Important Notes：
The membrane element must be kept wet. When the system is shut‑down, elements shall remain filled with pure water or permeate liquid; otherwise irreversible damage will occur.
No antiscalant of any type shall be applied to the e‑coat ultrafiltration system.
Silicone‑containing substances (water‑proof sprays, lubricants, greases, etc.) and phosphating sludge are prohibited from entering the ultrafiltration system. Their ingress will result in complete and irreversible membrane fouling.
Paint feed entering the ultrafiltration system shall be pre‑filtered by precision filters with 25‑50 μm pore size. Proper filtration effectively reduces the risk of membrane fouling.
Protective measures shall be implemented to avoid back‑pressure or vacuum conditions during system shutdown. Excessive back‑pressure or vacuum will cause membrane delamination.
Avoid “low‑flow” conditions (bypass valve open or circulation pump stopped), which will readily cause paint deposition on membrane surface.
Regular laboratory testing and adjustment of bath‑solution composition parameters. Relatively high additive content, lower pH value and lower conductivity of carry‑over from workpieces into bath can effectively mitigate membrane fouling and extend membrane service life.
Before feeding paint into the ultrafiltration system, ensure full circulation and maturation to achieve homogeneous paint mixing; otherwise unsatisfactory membrane performance will occur.
