The mechanical filter (pressure filter) is an essential piece of equipment for pre‑treatment in pure‑water production and water‑purification systems. Its materials include rubber‑lined steel and stainless steel. According to filter media types, it falls into natural quartz‑sand filter, multi‑media filter, activated‑carbon filter, manganese‑sand filter, etc. In terms of water‑inlet mode, it can be single‑flow filter or double‑flow filter. It can be applied independently or in combination according to practical requirements.
Working pressure: 0.05 MPa~0.6 MPa
Working temperature: 5 ℃~40 ℃ (custom‑built for special temperatures)
Single‑unit flow rate: 0.5 m³/h~80 m³/h
Operation mode: manual or automatic control
Filtration velocity: 5 m³/h~12 m³/h, maximum 15 m³/h
Product size: Φ223~Φ3000
Cylinder material: 304, 316L, Q235 rubber‑lined or epoxy‑coated carbon steel
Single‑flow mechanical filter: Simple pipeline layout and stable operation. Its filtration velocity generally ranges from 4 m/h to 50 m/h with an operation cycle of about 8 hours.
Double‑flow mechanical filter: Water‑inlet assemblies are fitted at both top and bottom ends, and a water‑outlet assembly is installed in the middle. It features large treatment capacity and high pollutant‑holding capacity, with a long operation cycle of around 20 hours. Its drawbacks are complex pipeline configuration, relatively unstable running condition, and difficult back‑washing and media replacement.

Mechanical filters are widely used in many technological processes. For instance, they serve as pre‑treatment equipment for removing suspended solids and granular impurities before water purification in electrodialysis systems. They are also applied in brackish‑water desalination, ultrapure‑water production, potable purified‑water preparation, groundwater defluoridation, pharmaceutical injection preparation, chemical‑fertilizer production, industrial process‑water supply for machinery manufacturing and other processes.
